Privacy Policy
1. The Short Version
Lucid Cove is built so that your data stays with you. If you self-host, the contents of your Cove never pass through us, and we could not read them if we wanted to. What we do handle, we keep minimal, and we never sell it.
2. Two Different Worlds
Self-hosted Coves: your files, chats, tunings, memories, and agent activity live on your hardware. What reaches us is only what coordination requires: your registry handle and Cove name, your address claim and the DNS records that serve it, mesh coordination metadata (not traffic contents), Knowledge Base subscription checks, and any Market transactions you choose to make. Cove-to-Cove chat federates directly between Coves.
Hosted accounts (Lucid Tuner and hosted Coves): we store what the service needs to function: your email, handle, your tunings and streak, files you upload, and your settings.
In both worlds, anything you deliberately publish (a public listing, a public profile, a tuning you choose to share) is public by design. Everything else stays private.
3. What We Collect
- Account: email address, handle, display name.
- Payments: processed by Stripe. We receive transaction records (what was bought, when, for how much); we never see or store card numbers.
- Service logs: minimal operational logs (errors, request metadata) kept for reliability and security.
- Marketing site analytics: our public websites use Google Tag Manager and cookies for basic analytics. The application itself uses only the session cookies required to keep you signed in.
- Email: transactional and onboarding email is sent through Brevo. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.
4. What We Deliberately Do Not Collect
The contents of self-hosted Coves: conversations with your agents, your files, your family chat, your memories, your daily practice. The architecture keeps these on your system. We do not build shadow profiles, we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use your content to train models.
5. How We Use Information
To operate the services, process transactions, pay affiliate commissions, provide support, secure the platform, and send you service email. Nothing else.
6. Sharing
We share data only with the processors that make the services work: Stripe (payments), Brevo (email), our infrastructure and DNS providers (hosting, Cloudflare), and with authorities where the law requires it. Each processor receives only what its function needs.
7. Your Rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your hosted account data by contacting us or using in-service tools where available. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems, except records we must keep (such as transaction records). Your self-hosted Cove's data never needed our permission in the first place: it is on your machine.
8. Retention and Security
We keep hosted data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it after deletion, except where the law requires longer retention. We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, isolated systems). No system is perfectly secure; keep your own backups of what matters.
9. Children
Our hosted services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. On a self-hosted family Cove, children's presences are created and managed by their own family, on their own hardware, under the family's control.
10. International Users
We operate from the United States. If you use the services from elsewhere, your data for hosted services is processed in the US.
11. Changes
We will post any changes here with an updated date, and make reasonable efforts to notify account holders of material changes.
